Of course no one can think of Holland and not think of Tulips! Amsterdam has the world's only floating flower market, called Bloemenmarkt, located in central Amsterdam. It's quite beautiful, and worth a stroll when you are in Amsterdam.
You can get some quite beautiful photos of flowers when you're there!
Most the vendors don't mind you taking photos, but some do mind.
Flowers are quite affordable, and if you live internationally, you can find some bulbs that are kosher for import (they come with some extra officially stamped certificates).
Tulips are bought and sold a sort of stock exchange in the Netherlands.
During the 17th century, a bubble was formed in the Tulip exchange, causing the price of Tulips to exceed 10x the average craftsman's yearly wages.
This period was known as
Tulip Mania.
Tulip mania was the first recognized economic bubble.
Like Tulips, I have invested heavily in Beanie Babies.
Some day I will be able to sell my Beanie Baby-Tulips at exceedingly high prices. Then I will be able to feed my children.
Nearby the flower market is
Munttoren (Munt Tower), originally part of the city wall.
Here you can see the back of the barges the flower shops are on.

Amsterdam is such a perfect city. I really recommend visiting.
There are interesting sights at every corner!
